A Balancing Blessings Nugget

>> Tuesday, August 18, 2009

When you find yourself engaged in a cycle of negative thoughts, challenge your thoughts:

1. Determine where your negative thoughts are coming from (a friend, a feeling, a lie, lack of understanding, etc.)?

2. Take control over your negative thoughts by:

  • Choosing not to dwell on the negative thought, or replacing that negative thought with a pleasant thought.

  • Peacefully confronting the person generating some of the negative thoughts you may have.

  • Seeking resolution in God's Word regarding a negative thought.

Philippians 4:8 say: "Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things."
